The Shrine of Remembrance is one of Melbourne’s most iconic and revered landmarks. It is a solitary, imposing neo-Classical building that contrasts with the adjacent Royal Botanic Gardens.

Opened in 1934 to originally commemorate World War I veterans, The Shrine honours the service and sacrifice of Australian men and women who have served in armed combat. Today, The Shrine of Remembrance is the focal point for many ceremonies throughout the year, most notably Anzac Day (April 25) when a dawn service is attended by tens of thousands of people ever year.

In a recent addition to the facilities, The Shrine Auditorium was opened in 2014 as part of a redevelopment project that further enables The Shrine to exhibit and educate.

The architects for the project designed an innovative, striking space with bold features throughout. Camatic’s Clarity Series of seating was chosen to complement this strong aesthetic, while still offering an exceptionally comfortable and durable seating experience.

Customised with stained plywood back panels, and red powder-coated steel components, Camatic was able to meet the unique requirements of this most contemporary, unique and important of spaces.
