Deakin University Central Precinct

A State-of-the-Art Auditorium

The $42 million Central Precinct in Burwood Campus, created a new heart for Deakin University’s modern Melbourne Campus and it also created a new state-of-the-art lecture theatre. Camatic Seating was awarded the highly sought-after contract to supply, deliver and install the seats in this theatre.

The project designed by H2o architects was designed and constructed incorporating many innovations and industry benchmarks for contemporary education building design issues, including Sustainability, Future Proofing, Flexibility, Occupational Health & Safety, Facility Management, Equality of Access, Life Cycle Costing, Construction Procurement and Constructability.

650 of Camatic Seating’s Quantum medium seats were installed, each fitted with Quantum lectra tablets and fully upholstered to provide many years of comfortable use by students.

Camatic Seating worked closely with H2o architects and the Deakin Facility Management team to ensure that tight manufacturing and installation schedules were adhered to at all times.
